Jacqueline Connolly

Jacqueline M. Connolly (neé Jacqueline M. Calbo), affectionately known as Jackie, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2025, at the age of 63, surrounded by love. Jackie was born in the Bronx, NY, into a large, loving family. In 1971, her family moved to Cobleskill, NY where Jackie graduated high school. She earned her associate degree from SUNY Cobleskill. She worked for the State of NY, operated her own at home business and then spent 30 years working at Grandma’s Pies & Restaurant, where she made life-long friends who were also family to Jackie. Jackie lived a life full of love and laughter, and was happiest spending time with her family and friends, many of whom she cherished for decades. She was known for her kindness and hospitality, making every gathering feel special. She opened her arms, kitchen, and home to those she loved, celebrating holidays, preparing homemade gravy dinners, and hosting annual Super Bowl parties--a cherished tradition enjoyed by many, including her friends who worked alongside her at Grandma’s Pies & Restaurant. Jackie’s kindhearted spirit and generosity will leave a lasting impact on those who knew her. Jackie was a supportive and nurturing mother to her daughters, Nicole and Christina (Tony) who were a significant source of pride and joy. Her daughters adored her deeply and will treasure the memories of her unconditional love and encouragement to pursue their own happiness and adventures. Jackie shared this sense of adventure with her late partner, Christopher M. Wood, exploring new places and creating lasting memories together for more than two decades. In addition to her daughters, Jackie leaves behind her sisters, Rosanne Calbo-Jackson and Lisa Phillips, her brother in law Nathan Jackson, her sister in law Brenda Calbo, Chris' extended family who were a source of much love and support over the years, numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins, and her beloved dog, Bella. Jackie was preceded in death by her beloved partner, Chris Wood, her parents, John and Sandy Calbo, her grandparents, Leonard and Mary Calbo, her brother Kevin Calbo, her sister Meg Fuhs and her brother in law, Robert Phillips. Jackie’s caring and selfless spirit will continue to live on in those who loved her. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025 from 9am to 11am at the Magin and Keegan Funeral Home, 891 Madison Avenue, Albany, NY 12208. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks memorial contributions be made to your local animal shelter in Jackie’s memory.
