James C. Przekurat

COLONIE, James Charles Przekurat, born January 28, 1965, died peacefully in his sleep on December 12, 2023 after a long battle with COPD and severe back pain. Through all of the intense pain, Jim never lost his ability to laugh and love with those around him. He was smart, a beautiful writer, and a very witty person. But what stands out the most about Jim is his incredibly soft heart. He had a sensitivity to our complex world that made his spirit unique. Jim was a master floor refinisher for many years; his work remains in many homes that families will appreciate for years to come, especially the work he did so lovingly for his family’s homes. All knew him as an avid Buffalo Bills and college sports fan, a bright star in family films, and someone who followed the news closely. He kept up on all current events, especially concerned for all of the pain in the world today. No matter how challenging things were for him, Jim always extended compassion for others. He loved get-togethers with family and friends around the pool, where he grilled for all who came and enjoyed holding court making everyone laugh and feel at home. There wasn’t a person who came around who didn’t feel special in Jim’s presence. Jim was deeply loved and he loved deeply. Is there any better measure of a life? Jim is survived by his wife of twenty-nine years, Lisa Pfeiffer Przekurat. He was the proud father of Patrick Lee (Kayleigh) and Jared Przekurat, his devoted caregiver and best bud. He was Papa Jim to Maddy, Kennedy, and Patrick Lee. He is survived by his brothers George (Lily) Bartels, Michael (Dawn) Przekurat, and sister Debbie (Dan) Gentile. He is survived by his loving nephews Travis Bartels and Nick Przekurat, adoring nieces Jennifer Bartels, Noëlle Gentile (Nathan Bogardus), Amanda Gentile (Jason Litwak) and Morgan Przekurat, and grandnieces Isla Kai and Lucia Bogardus. He was so grateful to his caring cousin Jim Feeney, MD, for all of his care over the years. You will be profoundly missed. Thanks Jim, it was a heck of a good time! Memorial services will be held Saturday December 16, 2023 at 12:00 pm at the Magin and Keegan Funeral Home, 891 Madison Ave. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the funeral home Saturday morning from 10 to 12 pm.
