Joseph Patrick Rosch

Joseph P. Rosch, 68, passed away peacefully with his son and daughter by his side, at Halifax Hospice (Port Orange, FL.) Sunday, July 25, 2021. Born on March 16,1953 and raised in Albany by the late Ann and Frank J. Rosch III, he is survived by his wife of 23 years, Gail (Gregory); former wife and mother of his children, Mary Theresa (Rosch); his children, Jennifer and Daniel; brothers, Raymond (Nancy), Michael (Judy), James (Jerri Lynn), William (Kathy), John (Kathleen); stepchildren, James Jr., Jaime (Robin) Floud; grandchildren: Gavin, Nikolai, Britton, Elizabeth, Dillon, Samantha, Brianna; many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Joe was also Godfather to Sheila ‘Red’ Rosch. Joe attended Cardinal McCloskey High School (71’) and went on to graduate with an Auto Mechanics degree from HVCC (73’). He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 106. After his schooling, Joe worked for his grandfather’s construction business, Rosch Brothers, Inc. Later, he became Owner/Operator of J.P. Rosch Excavating & Repairs and continued as a heavy machine operator in Florida. After travelling to Florida for several years, Joe married Gail and eventually settled in Port Orange, FL. Living close to the Daytona Int’l Speedway only fueled his passion for NASCAR. Friends of Joe’s knew him as ‘NASCAR Joe’ or ‘Big Joe.’ Joe spent a lot of time at Lebanon Valley Speedway and attended many NASCAR events over the years. Some of Joe’s Grandchildren, who fondly called him ‘Peepa,’ made lots of trips to Florida and in between beach days had great fun jumping on beds and running around the house. A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, August 5, 2021, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Polish American Citizens Club, 110 Commerce Avenue, Albany, NY 12206.
