Theodore J Yund Jr

Theodore Joseph Yund Jr. (Teddy) 70, of Schodack, died peacefully on Easter Sunday, April 1, 2018 at The Hospice Inn of St. Peters. Teddy was the first of fourteen children born to Theodore Joseph Yund and Grace B. Healey Yund , on June 1, 1947. He prayed the rosary daily as a way to express his love and gratitude for all of his blessings. Teddy graduated valedictorian Vincentian Institute, class of 1965 and Siena College, class of 1970. He was well known throughout the capital district for his passionate efforts in organizing CYO basketball and baseball programs in the late 60's and early 70's. He received his medical degree from Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara in Mexico. After completing his residency in NYC , Teddy resided in Mayfield N.Y., where he worked at Nathan Littauer Hospital, held a private medical practice in Amsterdam N.Y and was a psychiatrist for Montgomery County, NY . Together with his former wife Rosario, of Guadalajara Mexico, he raised and college-educated three adopted children: Juan, Hiraldo and Marcella. Teddy is preceded in death by his loving father, Theodore J. Yund , brother Michael, and brother-in-law Nicholas Crecca. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Grace B Healey Yund and siblings Mary Grace McCarthy (Walter), George Yund (Colleen) Barbara Crecca, Joseph Yund (Ann) Teresa Mac Daniel (Phillip), Elizabeth Sarris (John), Peter Yund (Laura), Margaret Demeter ( David ), Ann Yund, Catherine Averill (Thomas), Regina Annello (Chip), and John Yund (Kimberly ). Teddy is also survived by over 40 nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Dr. William Caramore and Dr. Andrew Coates for their compassionate care. .A mass of christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 6 at 9:00 am at the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, 607 Central Avenue, Albany, NY 12206. Family and friends are invited to Magin and Keegan Funeral Home 891 Madison Ave. Thursday from 4pm to 7pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Blessed Sacrament Food Pantry, 607 Central Ave Albany N.Y. 12206. Interment will take place later this year at St. Mary's Cemetery, Indian Lake, New York.
