Allan K. Doering

September 28, 1929 - November 3, 2016

Allan K. Doering, age 87, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2016 at St. Peters Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Born in Albany, he was a lifelong resident. He was an army veteran of the Korean War era. Allan graduated from Albany High School and the School of Practical Art, Boston. After graduation, he worked for a local advertising agency for 9 years and then worked as an artist for 25 years for the NYS Department Of Transportation. After his retirement, he enjoyed painting, woodworking and model making. He was a member of the German American Club for over 50 years. Son of the late Marguerite and Karl Doering, and loving husband of the late Virginia Doering, he is survived by his daughter Kimberley Harfenist and her husband Stephen, of Princeton Junction, NJ; his son Karl Doering and his wife Gail, of Loudonville, NY and 5 grandchildren; Stacy and Michael Harfenist and Kayla, Eric and Alex Doering.
