Ruth K. Lyons

April 17, 1921 - February 28, 2015

Ruth K. Lyons, 93, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away Feb. 28, 2015 at the Eddy Village Green. Born in Albany, she attended St. Anne’s High School and Comptometer School. She had been an active member of St. Joseph’s Parish, Rensselaer and the Rensselaer Senior Citizens. Mother of Maj. Gen. Stephen (Maureen Moran) Lyons, Ft. Lee, VA; Nancy (Alan) Kaplan, Jane (Wayne) Gelhorn, Mary Jean (Mark) Keegan, Ruth Anne (Marc Vener) Lyons, the late Eugene Charles Lyons and infant daughter Janice Mary Lyons. Grandmother of Meghan (Luke Gucker), LaMar & Liam (Mais Driscoll) Keegan; Stephen (Jill), Kevin and Jason (Alex Kurzman) Lyons; Joshua Lyons, Jeramie & Natasha Gelhorn; Ashley (David DeNero), Jordan & Daniel Kaplan; Kara & Dylan Lyons. Great Grandmother of Stephen, Connor, Owen, Brady, Jacey, Kieran, & Abel Lyons; Carter & Jackson DeNero; Jaxon Lyons & Hayden, Nayelly & Jashai. Beloved sister of Louise Graves, mother in law of Laurie Lyons (Parker) and special mom to Tanyea Myers Honsberger. She was predeceased by her husband Eugene E. Lyons, parents Ruth Critcher & Patrick J Kiernan, brothers Patrick, Charles, Ed & Bill and sister Katherine Welch. She has many loving nieces and nephews.
