Jo-Ann Vidulich

Jo-Ann Vidulich April 8, 1952 - November 4, 2024 It is with profound sadness that the family of Jo-Ann Vidulich, a resident of Troy, announce her passing on November 4, 2024. She was the daughter of Joseph A. and Therese G. Vidulich. Jo-Ann is survived by her brothers Joel and Dr. Michael (Pam Tsang) Vidulich and several cousins, including Dale and Diane Petrosino who have been by her side. She was predeceased by her sister that destiny forgot to give her, Nancy Purrott. Jo-Ann was a graduate of SUNY Cobleskill and SUNY Albany where she received her BS degree in Food Science Management. She was committed to her career at the NYS Education Department working in the Child Nutrition Program, from which she retired. Jo-Ann was a constant and determined caretaker for both of her parents and her sister Nancy throughout their health struggles. For those whom Jo-Ann loved, commitment to care and support knew no limits. You always knew Jo-Ann considered you a friend by the thoughtful cards she sent and her artistically wrapped and considerate gifts. Her creative expression was most notable in her attention to seasonal changes and holidays. She was a four-season hostess who baked love and friendship in all her delectable treats. Jo-Ann enjoyed providing fun and unusual games for social occasions that rewarded those in attendance with unconventional prizes like a can of baked beans. Jo-Ann was a European traveler, but her heart belonged along the Marginal Way in Maine, where she spent many vacations with family and friends. She wasn’t afraid to tell it like it is and we were all better for the laughs that followed. Jo-Ann enjoyed her furry friends, a few of which shared her distinguished personality. She was a long time antique hunter and was given the privilege of naming a Blue Ridge china pattern after her beloved cat, Arabella. Her generosity to share her many incredible gifts knew few boundaries. Besides her family and those already mentioned, Jo-Ann will be greatly missed by many good friends including Tim Cassavaw and Kathy O’Neil. She was predeceased by good friend Andy Bessemer. Funeral and internment will be at a later date (spring 2025) at the convenience of the family.
