Margaret E. Stackman Margaret (Peggy Foley) entered into eternal life October 11, 2022 Peggy was born in Albany to the late William and Mary Foley. She was married to the love of her life the late George (Al) Stackman for 59 years. She is survived by her children George (Butch) Stackman (Charlene), Kathleen Karins, Mary Pat Googas (John) Terri Stackman, and the late Kevin Stackman (Meg). Peggy was the proud grandmother of McKenzie Johnson (Ajay), Paul Karins Jr. (Andeetoh), Aaron Stackman (Casey), Kevin Stackman Jr (Megan), Stacie Karins (Carlos), Meaghan Passineau (Jim), Melissa O’Connor (Matt), Andrea Hahn (Rob), Bridget Drescher (Brandon) and Jared Stackman (Janna). Peggy is also survived by 17 great grandchildren. Her siblings the late Jean Hogan (Joe), Joan Schramm( the late Bob), the late William Foley (Annette), the late James Foley (the late Virginia), Marianne Hicks (Jim), Kathy Kovarik (Tim) and Michael Foley (Chris). Her in-laws the late Virginia Stackman, the late Peggy Engel (the late Bob) and Connie Hughes (the late Bob). And her constant companion Macy. Peggy graduated from Vincentian Institute and then went to work for NYS. After raising her family, her greatest joy, Peggy worked side by side with her husband at Son’s Tavern the family owned restaurant. Peggy loved to travel and saw a lot of the world including Wildwood, Las Vegas, Italy, Ireland, Germany, Florida and probably her favorite place Hawaii where she vacationed on more the one occasion. She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren with all her heart. She was a great listener to all of us and all our friends as well. Peggy’s yard was the center of many summer parties both planned and spontaneous. Many a Sunday afternoon where spent by the pool with friends and family. There was always plenty of food and drinks to keep the party going. The family would like to thank Dr. Michael Gardner for his years of compassionate care and friendship. We would also like to thank the staff at St Peter’s Hospital from the ER staff on duty they night of 10/6, to the ICU staff, the 6th floor staff and the Hospice Inn staff. All of you treated our mom with dignity and care. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday October 17, 2022 9am at Blessed Sacrament Church, 607 Central Avenue, Albany, NY 12206. Interment will follow at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery at 12pm. Relatives and friends may call at the Magin & Keegan Funeral Home, 891 Madison Ave., Albany on Sunday October 16 th from 4 to 7 pm.
